What is TL;DL?
TL;DL (Beta) is built for people who just can't listen to everything they want to. TL;DL gives a short summary that allows you to get the gist of the episode with AI insights and features real clips from the episode.
How to Use TL;DL?
Using TL;DL is simple, fast, and, not to mention, free. No paywalls, no subscriptions, no overthinking. Just storytelling, connection, and, of course, podcasting!
Here's how TL;DL works:
- Search for up to five podcast episodes: Selections can be from the same show or across multiple shows.
- Select how long you have to listen: Pick between 5 and 20 minutes.
- Click create: Headliner’s TL;DL will process your selections and generate a custom audio summary that blends AI insights with podcast clips.
- Listen when ready (and continue listening when you’re really ready): Headliner will send you an email when your TL;DL project is ready. And, best yet, if you hear something you really like, we make it easy to follow the show and/or continue listening to the full episode.
The result is a unique listening experience made for your ears.
Do I Need to Wait for TL;DL to Generate my Summary?
Nope!
While TL;DL should finish generating your summary in about 5 minutes, you do not need to wait in the active tab. Headliner will automatically send you an email letting you know your summary is ready to listen to.
How Does TL;DL Work (Behind the Scenes)?
TL;DL is made through the use of Headliner clipping technology (more info here), LLMs (currently using OpenAI GPT 4o), Assembly for transcription, and Eleven Labs for TTS.

Can I Opt-Out?
Yes! TL;DL was built with the creator in mind.
If you’re a podcaster and prefer not to have your show processed by TL;DL, you can opt out at any time. Just click the ‘Contact Us’ link in the bottom right corner of the site. We’ll make sure your show is removed from TL;DL and let your prospective listeners know.
How Can I Use TL;DL to Grow my Show?
TL;DL is yours to use! You may download TL;DL's output and use it as your own. Create trailers or even alternative, shortened feeds for additional paths to growth and monetization.
