This article will provide a step-by-step guide to setups and installations for both methods. So without further ado, let’s boogie! 🪩🕺
Note: Disco Free requires at that there are at least three episodes of your podcast in order to properly populate your widget.
Disco Free Widget Creation
Regardless of how you will be installing Disco Free, you will need to complete these four simple steps to create your Disco Free widget.

- Select your Disco widget style
- Input your info
-
- Review your Disco widget
Just sit back, relax, and wait for Headliner to work our magic!
It can take a couple of hours for your widget code to get produced, so go outside, take a walk, or maybe check out these fantastic photographs of snails; your widget will be ready in no time!
NOTE: if, for any reason, there is a problem with your widget creation, you'll get an error message telling you to contact support@headliner.app. Just shoot us an email, and a member of our amazing support team will be in contact shortly!
Manual Installation
We will send you an email notifying you that your widget is ready! So, once you see that email and have your Disco Widget code - you’re ready to install it! Follow these easy steps to complete the installation process:
- Login to your website/blog AND Headliner Dashboard
- Copy script tag and placeholder text
Open your Headliner Dashboard and head over to your “Disco Widget.” Click on “Widget Code” in the drop-down menu. From there, scroll down to the “Manual Installation” section to find both the Script Tag and Placeholder Text.
First, copy the Script Tag and place it in the head section of your HTML. Then, copy the placeholder text and add it to your HTML where you want to insert your Disco Widget. Instructions on how to do this are here!
Keep in mind the Disco Widget is responsive and will stretch to fill the container it is placed in, so if it is enormous and takes up the full width of your site, you probably need to move its location. Most people put the widget directly under the post/article pages (we did!).
- Sit back and relax! You’re done.
WordPress Plugin Installation
If you have a WordPress site, you definitely want to use this! Headliner has created an easy-to-use WordPress Plugin that streamlines the Disco Free setup process - in early testing, the WordPress Plugin even had a 4x higher conversion rate when compared to the manual installation method.
- Create your Disco Free Widget in the Headliner Dashboard
- Log into WordPress AND your Headliner Dashboard account
- Click on “Plugins”
On the left-hand side of your WordPress Dashboard, you should see a black column with several navigation options. You’ll need to select “Plugins” and then “Add new.”
- Download and install the Disco Free WordPress Plugin
In the upper right-hand corner, you should see a search bar. Click on it and search for Disco Free by Headliner or just Headliner if you want to save some typing!
Once you’ve found us - you’ll need to install us. Simply click “Install” and then click “Activate” once the plugin is downloaded.
- Add Disco Widget ID
Again, navigate over the black column on your left-hand side. Click “Settings” and then click “Headliner Disco Free”
- Copy Widget ID -
