If you’re here, you’ve probably tried Headliner Automations—or you’re curious what all the fuss is about.
Automations now do more than just create audiograms. They handle everything from auto-posting clips to social media, to video captioning, transcription, and even delivering a full promo pack for every episode.
If you haven’t tried it yet, start with the overview article. FAQs are just below.
What are automations?
Headliner Automations are built to help you promote your podcast with less effort and more consistency. Here’s a quick breakdown of the four types of automations available: video automation, Most Replayed, Automatic Audiograms, and automatic transcription.
Video automations
With Headliner, you can automatically transform full-length content into 10 captioned, styled clips.
Once your videos are finished processing, you can edit, share, and even generate social captions for all your clips.
Most Replayed
For creators with a large YouTube presence, Headliner created Most Replayed. Most Replayed allows podcasters to clip, caption, and style the most replayed parts of their YouTube videos automatically.
Like video automations, Headliner allows podcasters to edit, share, style, and generate social captions for Most Replayed clips.
Automatic Audiograms
The original and most famous automation—Automatic Audiograms!
Automatic Audiograms turn your audio podcast into shareable, stylized social videos (aka audiograms). Every time you publish a new episode, we’ll create and post an audiogram for you to YouTube and all major social media platforms—no editing or uploading required. It’s a quick, engaging way to grow your show on top discovery platforms.
Automatic Transcription
Similar to Automatic Audiograms, Automatic Transcription generates a high-quality transcript and branded Podcast Promo Pack every time you publish a new episode.
Each new episode gets automatically transcribed and bundled with context aware marketing assets (aka the Podcast Promo Pack), which includes things like YouTube descriptions, social captions, and keywords—all designed to help you market your podcast faster.

Help! I haven't received my video
It can take us time to process the podcast, transcribe it, and pick the best or most replayed clips. If you haven't received your automation projects within a few hours, please contact support.
How do you pick the clips?
Magic...just kidding! Some people use acronyms, like AI, but it all comes down to our goal of getting you the best clip. We use the transcript, the source file, and the millions of clips already selected by our users in the past to train our code to hopefully pick the right clip for you.
We realize selections are often subjective, so if you don't like the clip, you can fix or reselect a clip altogether. Doing this also helps us learn and improve through continuous learning initiatives!
Can I select my own clip?
Yes, you can always adjust any video created for you.
From the clip selection page, you can adjust or reclip any automation.
- Navigate to the 'Project's' tab
- Find the project you want to reclip or edit
- Select 'See Your Clips' on the far right-hand side
- Edit via transcript for light editing or click "SELECT YOUR OWN CLIP"
- Select a new clip via transcript or waveform selection
Do Automations count against my free tier quota for non-watermarked videos?
Yes, they do. To unlock more unwatermarked videos, upgrade your subscription in your account settings.
Can I only make automations for future episodes?
Nope—you can create Automatic Audiograms and transcripts from any point in your back catalog.
For Automatic Audiograms, the easiest way to do this is by creating a YouTube automation. You can set the automation to send to your email instead of auto-posting so you can review or re-share to any social platform. Headliner makes it easy to create seasonally or episodally.
How can I delete an Automation?
If you'd like to stop receiving videos from a given automation queue, go to the Projects tab and click the podcast art image.
To disconnect a podcast from your account, continue hovering over the show art and click the trash can. This will remove all automations from your account. Note: You will still be able to access existing projects via the 'Projects' tab, Headliner just will not make future ones automatically.
To turn off an automation, click the drop down arrow and then toggle the automation off. This will stop Headliner from automatically creating and uploading audiograms for that specific automation.
Can I adjust the templates you have? Or use my own?
Yes, for our pre-made templates, you can adjust any design elements or add your own using the Quick Editor.
To create your own template, it is best to start with another project, get it set up just like you want it, and then save the template. Here is an overview on how to do that.
You may also edit any template design for running automations by click the purple 'Edit' button on automation pages. Then, click 'Edit Visuals' in the pop-up box.
