How to add captions to full-length audiograms
To caption full-length audiograms, follow these (similar) steps:
- Select either 'Manual Audiograms' or 'Automatic Audiograms'
- Use 'Manual Audiograms' to create a single project, or 'Automatic Audiograms' to generate multiple projects.
Note: Depending on your selection, the next steps may appear in a different order, but you'll be asked for the same details. The key step for full-length audiograms is selecting 'YouTube' and 'Full-Episode' in the 'Choose a destination' modal.
- Upload your audio file or search for your podcast
- Select YouTube, then, select 'Full-Episode'
- Select or design a template
- Click 'CAPTIONS' and toggle captions 'ON'
Once you've enabled captions, you may edit them. Editing captions in the Quick Editor saves on processing time and ensures all your captions are correct the first time.
To edit your captions, click the 'EDIT CAPTION TEXT' button. This will open a simple transcript based editor. The transcription window allows you to edit both captions and the corresponding audio file like a word doc.
Note: If you delete words from the text, it will remove them from the audio. If you'd like to remove a word from the caption, but keep it in the audio, click on the word you'd like to remove and then press the space bar. This will strike the word from the transcript but still keep it in the audio file. You will know if it work properly because you'll see a dot where the word was.
Once you're happy with your captions, you can do on designing the rest of your audiogram! To complete your captioned audiogram:
- Click the blue 'CREATE' button in the bottom right-hand corner
- Headliner will notify you when your full-length captioned audiogram is ready for download
