In Headliner, you can edit full-length video captions! Let's explore how:
Edit Captions in the Quick Editor: Manual Audiograms
For full-length projects over 10 minutes long, you can edit captions directly in the Quick Editor. To do so, you'll need to first enable captions by clicking on the 'Captions' button.
Once you've successfully navigated to the captions editing flow, you'll be prompted with the option to either edit or style captions. If you'd like to edit your captions in the Quick Editor, you may need to wait a few minutes while Headliner works on generating your transcript. The good news is this is a very quick and easy process!
And yes, you can leave the screen while you wait — just don't close the tab!
Once Headliner has finished transcribing your episode, you'll be able to click 'Edit Caption Text.' This will open our transcript-based editor to make caption adjustments as needed.
NOTE: Editing captions in the Quick Editor will not make any adjustments to the audio file. Caption Editing via the Quick Editor only allows you to change the caption text that will appear in your podcast video. If you would like to edit your audio file AND captions at the same time, visit eddy.headlner.app.
Editing Video Captions
In addition to captioning full-length audiograms, Headliner also let's you caption full-length video! To edit full-length video captions, however, the process is slightly different.
To get started, you'll first need to create and caption a full-length video project.
Next, make sure you select 'Full Episode.' This will ensure Headliner captions your full video.
From here, you will be directed to the Quick Editor. This is where you set your caption's style, however, unlike audiograms, you cannot edit captions at this juncture. You will need to wait for the video to fully process before you can edit captions—don't worry though, we'll let you know when your video is ready!
Once your video has processed, navigate to the 'Projects' tab and click on the full-length video episode.
Next, click 'Edit' and then 'Edit Transcript.'
And, similar to the audiogram flow, you will be directed to a transcript-based editor. Here, adjust your transcript much like you would a word doc. Headliner will automatically recognize any changes made via transcript to fix your captions.
Once you've corrected your transcript and, by extension, your captions, click 'Save Changes' in the upper right-hand corner.
And that's it! You now have a beautiful, captioned video to grow your podcast on YouTube or the web.
